The open-plan sitting room welcomes its guests and is a beautiful introduction to the property. The room is attractive and rustic with traditional features at every turn including wood flooring, an original fireplace and feature picture windows and is the ideal spot for curling up, getting cosy and relaxing into your holiday. The dining area is set out ready for visitors to enjoy delicious food prepared in the small but perfectly formed kitchen where you will find everything you need to create fabulous holiday cuisine for the whole family.

When bedtime calls, there is a fabulous ground-floor master bedroom with feature windows, wood flooring and a traditional fireplace and a magnificent wooden staircase lead the way upstairs where there are two well-presented bedrooms, a double and a twin which both have gorgeous skylights giving a glimpse of trees and skies above and creating an idyllic sanctuary.

When the sun is shining in Dorset there is nowhere nicer to be so why not spend some time alfresco in the enclosed courtyard area and soak up the rays? This is just perfect for an early morning coffee, a light lunch or a long, lingering evening meal.

The tranquil setting of Yard Cottage is what sets it apart, languishing in some 350 acres of grounds of Rousdon Estate with gardens, woodlands and footpaths aplenty to explore. You can easily while away a day here wandering and discovering! There is even a (very steep!) footpath leading to a private beach.

A short but scenic drive away is Lyme Regis; a beautiful town with narrow streets filled with gorgeous shops and boutiques, and just outside the town there is Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium and Lyme Regis Museum, which both offer a fascinating insight into the history and the marine life of the area.

Tunnel Tree Tops high ropes and zip wire near Charmouth is well worth a visit with days out to Axe Valley Wildlife Park, Pecorama, Seaton Tramway and Beer Heights Light Railway all within easy reach.

Seaton

Seaton is a seaside and fishing village sandwiched between Axmouth 20 minutes away, and Beer 5 minutes away in opposite directions. Seaton beach is the longest shingle beach in Devon, stretching over a mile long and overlooking Lyme Bay. The beach is gently sloping so is great for all watersports and swimming. Running the length of the beach is the esplanade leading to the town at 1 end and the cafe at the other end. The town has a variety of sops including the Co-op and several pubs, The Malthouse is dog friendly and even offers dog biscuits for good behaviour! Seaton Tramway can be picked up here and takes you alongside the River Axe estuary and through 2 nature reserves. There are many walks to be taken along the coastline to soak in the wonderful views and countryside, For those who like a challenge, there is a Seaton to Lyme Regis walk through the undercliffs, this is uneven ground and often slippery and is not a short walk but the scenery soon makes up for this. A short walk or drive away is the village of Beer. The beach here is a sheltered bay with a pebble beach and there are several cafes and pubs which are dog friendly. Pecorama in Beer is a great day out for the children with indoor and outdoor areas, crazy golf and a miniature model railway to ride on.
