Description

Located on the top floor of this central apartment block, Torbay View has lots to offer during your stay. From the apartment, there are views out across Torbay and Brixham’s busy harbour. The apartment is just around the corner from the heart of Brixham with most of the town’s attractions being within walking distance. It is comfortable and furnished to ensure that it is a relaxing place to return to after a busy day out and about. The property also benefits from a private parking area. With its close location to the town centre and excellent transport links, you wouldn’t even have to use the car during your stay.

Around the harbour and town there are many fantastic restaurants, tea shops and gift shops to browse. Brixham has many activities all year round including a pirate festival each year and so much more. The harbour is only a short stroll away, where you can take a boat trip to Torquay and Dartmouth or embark on a day’s fishing. The coastal path is easily accessed, leading to lovely beaches and coves. The popular Fishcombe Cove is at the top of the road. Brixham forms the third part of Torbay, the others being Torquay and Paignton. The bay is known as the English Riviera due to its unique micro-climate.
Walkers and cyclists can escape and explore the depths of Dartmoor, spot wild ponies, cross ancient stone bridges spanning the clear waters of the River Dart, and many other streams and rivers. You can also feel the somewhat eerie presence of the tors, seven rocky hills presiding majestically over the moors. Take the ferry across to Dartmouth, the neighbouring town to Brixham, which is set around the River Dart. At the mouth of the river are Kingswear and Dartmouth Castles with the rocky waters of the estuary lapping at their feet. There are many National Trust properties nearby and Agatha Christie’s home Greenway is well worth a visit. Beach 750 yards. Shops, pubs and restaurants 100 yards.

Area Details

Brixham

Brixham is a beautiful harbourside town on the South Devon coast on the English Riviera. Brixham has a rich maritime history and a full-size replica of the Golden Hind can be found in the Inner Harbour. A short walk further on takes you to the Brixham Battery Heritage Centre with magnificent panoramic views across the bay or find out more at the Brixham Heritage Museum.

There are regular ferry trips to Paignton and Torquay or you can book a wildlife sea-fari or a fishing trip. The area is great for learning to sail which can be done at the Torbay Sea School or crew the 78-foot heritage sailing ketch for a morning, afternoon or evening sailing trip. There are a number of festivals throughout the year including the popular Pirate Festival which attracts thousands of visitors. For relaxation, it is hard to beat Breakwater Beach, an award-winning Blue Flag beach close to the mouth of the harbour.
