Continue through to the amply-equipped kitchen, where the designated chef can rustle up some tasty treats for the group to enjoy gathered around the dining table, planning the thrilling itinerary for your holiday. As the day draws to a close, indulge in a leisurely soak amongst the bubbles in the family bathroom, or if you prefer, make use of the overhead shower for a quick rinse, before retiring to one of the two double bedrooms to rest your head, one of which benefits from its own television, offering an escape from the excitement of the main living space.

There are plenty of exciting sights and attractions right on your doorstep, including the maritime and industrial exhibitions on display at Dartmouth Museum, the 16th century Tudor fortress of Bayard's Cove Fort and the picturesque landscape of Royal Avenue Gardens, overlooking the harbour. Board the ferry to the neighbouring village of Kingswear, where history buffs will be delighted by the heritage to be discovered at Kingswear Castle and the National Trust attraction of Coleton Fishacre House & Gardens, dating back to the 1920s.

Join the South West Coast Path and traverse the rugged coastline north to the fishing town of Brixham, soaking in the panoramic views across the water en route, where you can test your swing at the 18-hole golf course or indulge in a spot of traditional Devonshire afternoon tea at The Guardhouse Cafe, perfectly positioned on the clifftop.

Situated on the banks of the picturesque River Dart, Dartmouth is a beautiful harbour town in South Devon, a perfect destination for all year round short breaks and holidays. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Dartmouth provides stunning countryside surroundings with the coast within very close proximity making this area one of the most popular for visitors to Devon. The beautiful estuary and the coast are home to many watersports such as sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding or why not try surfing at one of the nearby surf schools. Relax on the sandy Blue Flag awarded Blackpool Sands Beach, one of the most popular family beaches in the area or if feeling more energetic use the beach as a base for a walk as the beach is directly on the South West Coast Path.

Visit Dartmouth Castle, superbly located in the mouth of the estuary with wonderful views from the top tower and has been guarding the area since 1388. Explore Greenway, the holiday home of Agatha Christie now run by the National Trust. Nearby Woodlands theme park boasts the largest watercoasters in Devon, a farm with all the family favourites including meerkats, all set within beautiful grounds of 100 acres. Take a trip on one of the many ferries and head out for a day to explore nearby Salcombe, Torquay or Totnes or stay on land and explore the English Riviera on the Dartmouth Steam Railway.
