Located in the centre of the pretty Devon village of Lustleigh, on the edge of the stunning Dartmoor National Park, this cottage has been beautifully converted from the Victorian school. The village tea room, shop and friendly pub are just 150 yards from the cottage, so you are in the perfect spot for a Devonshire cream tea or hearty supper, perhaps after walking the footpaths which radiate from the village and take in spectacular countryside scenery. This semi-detached cottage welcomes you into a cosy living room with wood burning stove and entertainment in the form of a TV/DVD and piano for duets or to practise your scales. The kitchen/dining room, through an archway from the living room, is a light, airy room for rustling up delicious meals from the fresh local Devon produce. Downstairs is a handy shower-room, shared by the two bedrooms which you will find upstairs, complete with period characterful beams with wrought iron supports. You will enjoy observing the slow pace of village life and lovely views from the pretty lawn garden which surrounds the cottage, with no less than two patios for eating al fresco from the barbecue and toasting your toes around the firepit when the sun sets. As well as dramatic Lustleigh Cleave on the edge of the village to explore, Dartmoor's eastern slopes are just beyond, a great place for walking, picnicking and admiring the landscape. Riding, fishing and golf can all be found close to Lustleigh, with the sea and beaches at Teignmouth or Torbay only about 10 miles away, so there are plenty of activities to sample.

Lustleigh
Lustleigh is a small, pretty village in the heart of the Wrey Valley. With its thatched cottages, narrow lane, and woodland it has been known as the "prettiest village in Dartmoor".The village is popular with walkers and those in search of a traditional British village where time has stopped. The village has its very own park with a children's play area and brook, a village shop and a pub that dates back to the 15th century serves traditional home-cooked food, locally brewed beer, and a roaring fire for those colder days. This is a destination perfect for those wanting a rural retreat but close to larger towns. We have a great collection of Lustleigh self-catering cottages from which you can enjoy the area.
