The accommodation is elegant and comfortable with lots of windows and big rooms to relax in. Upstairs, the master double with its handsome mahogany bed boasts an en suite shower room, and there are four more bedrooms. You can wander where you choose on the 250-acre farm, with its pond, animals and plentiful wildlife, and help too if you bring your wellies. Get stuck into country pursuits in the shape of clay pigeon shooting, archery and mountain biking, or bring your own horses on holiday and ride on the moors which are just beyond the farms fields (small extra charges may apply). You will eat like kings on this traditional farm, with eggs and fresh seasonal veg often available, or the friendly owner provides a sumptuous menu of evening meals; for eating out, Lydford is renowned for its two excellent food pubs. If you can tear yourselves away from the farm, there is dramatic Dartmoor to explore by foot, bicycle or car, plunging Lydford Gorge and a ruined castle.
