Close to the sea, with lovely panoramic coastal views and a gorgeous golden sandy beach just a short walk Tarquin provides a welcoming home featuring a wonderful light living space to create a perfect holiday destination.   In the summer it’s perfect for families, but during the quieter seasons couples and friends can take advantage of all the comfortable living space and the competitive tariff available for smaller parties to enjoy coastal walks, deserted beaches and the chance to appreciate the seasonal views and moods of the sea whilst cosying up around the open fire.

Tarquin is presented in an attractive, fresh and contemporary style, with light and airy rooms (most featuring sea views) which are tastefully furnished  The open plan living room with patio doors opens to the sunny south facing terrace. There's a modern kitchen, four spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms which combine to provide the comfortable and relaxing environment so necessary to enjoy a great holiday and all the conveniences one expects in a popular holiday home are provided. Being on one level it’s suitable for all age groups and convenient parking for two cars is provided.

  • Included: Bed linen, towels (guests must bring their own beach towels), electricity, central heating, a complimentary basket of logs in winter and a high chair. Please Note that owing to the risks associated with CV19 a travel cot will no longer be supplied and guests should bring their own.

Area Details


The small hamlet of Bigbury-on-Sea is another perfect location for seaside holidays located in the South Hams area in South Devon. The beach offers everything you could ever desire for the perfect day by the sea including safe swimming with seasonal lifeguards (May to September) and shallow waters. The beach is very spacious and has disabled access. At low tide, you can take a walk over to Burgh Island or if you can't wait take a trip over on the famous sea tractor and discover the Art Deco Burgh Island Hotel, the links with Agatha Christie and its history of pirates and smugglers. A great area for rockpooling this area is a big hit for kids of all ages.

The facilities are equally good with two car parks, clean toilets and even showers for the surfers and bathers. The Discover Surf School offers surf lessons for beginners and intermediates and they also offer windsurfing and kitesurfing. The Venus Café has a variety of food and drinks options including the all-important ice cream and there is even a beach barista. A pub is also available on Burgh Island. Dogs are allowed on one side of the beach and there are dog bowls and water available for them as well.

Plenty of holiday accommodation directly at Bigbury-on-Sea, many with sea views and just a couple of minutes walk to the beach with further great options in the surrounding villages.
