Swallows is a lovely detached cottage situated in the village of Cornworthy, Totnes. Hosting four bedrooms; two king-size with en-suites, a king-size, and a twin, along with a bathroom, this property can sleep up to eight people. Inside you will also find a ground floor cloakroom, kitchen/diner, and a sitting room with wood burner. To the outside is off-road parking for two cars, an external utility, and a private enclosed garden with lawn, patio area and furniture. Resting in a delightful setting with places of interest close by, Swallows is a desirable retreat in a heart-warming part of England.
A lovely, modern detached property in the centre of the rural village of Cornworthy, rested on Bow Creek, part of the River Dart Estuary. Built in the late 1980’s, the property has been updated considerably, beautifully presented and very comfortable, suited for families or friends. The ground floor welcomes you inside via a porch and hallway to two family-sized rooms including a beautiful Kitchen Diner with granite counter-tops, along with a Sitting room, illuminated by low lighting, comfy sofas, and a charming fireplace which features a wood-burning stove. The village itself is located on the Dart Valley Trail and is popular with walking and sailing enthusiasts. The local village pub, 200mtrs up the road recently reopened ( May 2019 ) under new ownership and new tenants." This is a wonderful region to explore on foot or by car, through the village to nearby Tuckenhay, Dittisham and Agatha Christy’s “Greenway House”. Ferry boats and river trips are a “must-do” between Totnes and Dartmouth and Dartmouth Castle. Both towns boast access for the visitor by steam train to Buckfastleigh and Paignton respectively. Totnes is a short drive away, an attractive and vibrant town which boasts a mainline railway station that provides direct services from London Paddington in under three hours.
Cornworthy is a village by the River Dart near Dartmouth and Totnes which are both 20 minutes away. There a few farm shops within the village and a few pubs within a 10-minute drive in neither direction. The Ferry Boat Inn is situated on the quayside and serves home-cooked traditional food and pizza - the pub is dog friendly too. The part-shingle, part-sand Blackpool Sands Beach is very family-focused. The fine shingle of Strete Gate Beach is dog friendly all year round. Both of these beaches are just 6 miles away. Visit Bayards Cove Fort, Woodlands Family Theme Park, Dartmouth Castle in Dartmouth or visit Berry Pomeroy Castle and Totnes Rare Breeds Farm in Totnes just 8 miles away.
