Additional rooms include a sitting room with an electric fireplace and a well-appointed kitchen with a dining area. Outside you will find off-road parking and an enclosed garden area to the rear of the property, complete with a lawned area and garden furniture. Southmead Cottage is a delightful end-terrace cottage, hidden away in the stunning rural hamlet of Lettaford. This medieval hamlet is made up of just five properties which sit in the heart of Dartmoor, just over three miles from Chagford and with lovely moorland walks from the doorstep. Upon entering the charming cottage, you step through a small porch, ideal for kicking off your boots before entering the contemporary styled cottage. In here you will be welcomed to a brightly-decorated kitchen with breakfast table. From the kitchen, follow the five steps up to a tranquil, sunny sitting room with an electric flame-effect fire. Large, luxurious double bedroom, with a king-size bed, perfect for relaxing. Next to the bedroom an elegant marble-effect family bathroom. Stairs from the kitchen up to two bedrooms, with rural views; a spacious king-size double with an en-suite shower plus a room with bunk beds. Outside, you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee in the enclosed garden, complete with furniture and charming rural views. The cottage is alongside a bridle path which takes you directly onto the High Moor, where you will discover miles of wild, open moorlands, rich with history and wildlife. If you're visiting with younger guests, then a trip to the Miniature Pony Centre just a mile away is must. For provisions, restaurants and excellent shopping, the cottage sits close to the tiny towns of Moretonhampstead or Chagford both of which can be located within a 10-minute drive from the cottage. Southmead Cottage is a truly elegant cottage, an equally great base for outdoor and adventure lovers, couples or a family, or those seeking rural peace within the Dartmoor National Park.

Chagford

Set in the northern part of Dartmoor National Park, Chagford is a picturesque town that is surprisingly well provisioned, boasting four pubs and a wide range of shops. The River Teign runs through the town and you can go on a riverside walk to find the Fingle Bridge, a local beauty spot. With the largest open-air swimming pool in the south-west and public tennis courts, you can also enjoy your leisure time. Chagford holds music, literary and film festivals annually as well as regular exhibitions of paintings and poetry.

However, most people staying here are coming to wonder at the beauty of Dartmoor. With over 200 square miles of beautiful moorland to discover it is a rambler's dream dotted with historic sites such as Grimspound and dramatic scenery including the famous tors.
