Torquay is a wonderful holiday base; stroll through the vibrant streets and its picturesque harbourside where you can watch the stunning yachts whilst tucking into a portion of fish and chips, enjoy an alcoholic beverage at one of the many waterside bars or venture to the beach where you can lounge on the soft sand and paddle in the warm waters of the bay, or even hire kayaks and paddleboards and enjoy some time on the water! Take time to tick off local attractions, including Torquay Museum, the Victoria Parade, Torquay Marina, plus a whole host of thrilling watersports available on the beach.

Pop on your walking boots and meander along the South West Coastal Path, cutting across miles of beautiful landscapes, seafronts and over attractions such as Paignton Zoo Environmental Park and the stunning Dartmoor National Park, with the Dartmouth Steam Railway nearby and providing a scenic train journey.

Part of the English Riviera, Torquay is famed for its sandy beaches and palm trees and has been attracting visitors with its charms for hundreds of years. So much to see and do in the area including the underground caves at Kents Caverns, the 800-year-old Torre Abbey, the Living Coasts Marine Zoo and Aquarium, Babbacombe Model Village as well as the Torquay Museum. Agatha Christie was born here the Inernational Agatha Christie Festival is held annually and you can walk the Agatha Christie mile to discover some of the murder scenes from her books. Take the steam train to Kingswear and enjoy a trip along the River Dart.

Plenty of activities available on the calm waters of Tor Bay including sailing dinghies, yachts and motorboats with sea schools available for those looking to take a structured course. There are plenty of beaches nearby, you will be spoilt for choice. The choice of cuisine is huge, including Michelin starred restaurants and tastes from around the world to tea rooms and cafes and pubs. A vibrant evening scene gives you choices of theatre, concerts, plays, musicals, comedy and ballet. In summer open-air theatres play at Cockington Country Park and various National Trust properties nearby.
