Description
Colyford Rose Cottage
Rose Cottage is one of three attractive holiday properties, converted from a former dairy with a light and airy feel to the property. This lovely cottage is located in the pretty village of Colyford, close to the Jurassic coast. The cottage has been sympathetically restored with high oak-beamed ceilings and an attractive oak floor and is one of two cottages available to book. The open-plan living area makes excellent use of the space and the separate bedroom has a King size bed and a luxury en-suite shower room.
The village includes a small grocery store, an excellent butcher, a cycle shop and a cafe. There are also a couple of traditional pubs, both serving food. This is a good base for couples to explore the wonderful area of West Dorset and East Devon. The whole of the Jurassic Coast (including Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth), now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only about 15 minutes away by car. The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area. For those that enjoy a culinary treat, celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage shop and restaurant is a short drive away in the East Devon market town of Axminster. Walkers will be spoilt for choice with many wonderful inland footpaths nearby as well as the stunning South West Coast Path running along this section of the Jurassic Coast.
