Description

This cosy fisherman’s cottage is set on three floors in a great location with views across the sea. Just a short stroll into the bustling little village with its quaint cobbled streets and a plethora of independent craft shops cafes, pubs and restaurants. The novelist Charles Kingsley described Appledore as that ‘that little white fishing village’. Enjoy a walk along the quayside watching the boats bobbing in the water and children crabbing or sit with a bag of fish n chips on one of the many benches overlooking the seaside village of Instow. In the summer months, you can take the little pedestrian ferry across to Instow and spend the day on the golden sands. If you feel the need to leave the village, the whole of the North Devon coast is easily accessible by car and the sandy beaches of Westward Ho! are just 2 miles away. RHS Rosemoor Gardens and the heritage village of Clovelly are also a must to explore and within a 13.5 mile radius.

On entering the cottage it takes you straight into the cosy lounge with comfy sofas and a Smart TV to sit and enjoy relaxing with your family watching a good movie or two. The cottage kitchen has everything you need to make a favourite dish. Completing this floor is the family bathroom. Taking the stairs to the first floor are two bedrooms, one has a single bed and the other a super-king zip-link bed (can be made into twins on request) with stunning views across the estuary and a separate shower room. There is a third bedroom up a steep staircase which has 2 single beds.

From the back of the cottage, there is an incline that takes you to the enclosed terraced decked area with patio furniture, where you can sit, relax, dine alfresco and enjoy the beautiful sea view or enjoy a spot of star gazing on a clear night.

Appledore

Appledore is a small fishing village in North Devon. The village celebrates its local artists. The village is full of narrow streets, many of them cobbled. Here you that will find a lot of arts and crafts shops showcasing their work. A variety of pubs and restaurants offer a large range of local seafood. The village is has a privately owned shipyard that employs a lot of the locals. The quay is often occupied by local shipping vessels and yachts. Cruises are available to go up and down the estuary. A ferry takes passengers to the pretty village of Instow which has a sheltered Sandy beach and pier. A short walk away, along the river is Bideford Bay and Westward Ho. The nearest town is Barnstaple 21 minutes away.
