Quay Cottage is a fabulous waterside property in the picturesque village of Dittisham, just a short 15-minute drive from the historic navel town of Dartmouth. The property sleeps six, with one king bedroom with en suite, one double bedroom and one bunk bedroom which share a family bathroom. The cottage has a cosy sitting room with a feature Wood Burner and a well-equipped kitchen with dining table seating six. Outside the cottage is an enclosed terrace area as well as an elevated decking area with good river views over the quayside cottages rooftops. Quay Cottage, with its idyllic location, is perfect for a relaxing Devon break.
Quay Cottage is a lovely, pet-friendly cottage on ‘The Quay’ in the picturesque village of Dittisham with stunning uninterrupted views across the River Dart. Just a short 15-minute drive away or 20-30 minute river cruise is the historic naval town of Dartmouth with its award-winning restaurants, individual boutique shops and delightful waterfront.
Within 100 yards of the cottage are The Ferry Boat Inn (one of two pubs in the village, in addition to a shop/post office) and the widely acclaimed Anchorstone Cafe serving locally-sourced fish and seafood in a stunning riverside location. Agatha Christie's former home 'Greenway' (now owned by the National Trust) is a short ferry 'hop' across from ‘The Quay’. The cottage is accessed from ‘The Quay’ via a covered porch and stable door which leads directly into the sitting room. Two steps lead up into the kitchen. This cosy living area has low ceilings, original supporting beams and stunning views. The room is comfortably furnished with a corner sofa, a chaise lounge, coffee table, and sideboard with TV and a feature Wood Burner. A doorway and two steps lead into the dining room with a pine table and six chairs. Two steps lead up into the kitchen which is well equipped with a range of appliances including a four-ring hob, integrated electric oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer.
A door leads out to the rear terrace and garden area. An open staircase ascends from the kitchen to the first-floor bedrooms. There are three bedrooms in total. The en suite master bedroom is situated at the rear of the property and is a light and airy room with a vaulted ceiling, and French doors leading out to the rear terrace. The room is furnished with a King-size bed, two bedside cabinets with wall lights over, a chest of drawers with sidelight and flatscreen TV, built-in wardrobes with hanging space, a bedside armchair, and a stool. The en suite shower room has a shower cubicle, w.c., bidet, and wash hand basin. Bedroom two has superb river views and a double bed. Bedroom three again has superb river views and is furnished with fixed triple bunk beds (the top bunk is 7’ from the floor and is not suitable for young children). There is also a family bathroom fitted with a panelled bath with hand-held shower attachment, w.c., and a wash hand basin.
To the rear of the cottage, accessed either from the master bedroom or a flight of external steps from the kitchen, is an enclosed cobbled terrace with bistro table and chairs. A further flight of steps leads up to the decked terrace with table and chairs and a chiminea. This area has good river views over the quayside cottages rooftops.

Perched on the banks of the River Dart, Dittisham is a pretty village with wonderful river views and just 6 miles from Dartmouth. Located in the popular South Hams area it is also in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within the village, you will find the Post Office and store, the Red Lion Inn, the Ferry Boat Inn and the Anchorstone Café. The ferry, which runs two boats all year round, is a very pleasant half-hour journey that will take you to Dartmouth. Visit Greenway, the former home of Agatha Christie or time your visit to one of the many festivals in the area including the Dart Music Festival in May, the Dittisham regatta in August and the Dartmouth Food Festival in October.
