Description

The village itself is situated at the point where the rivers Taw and Torridge meet just before joining the Atlantic Ocean, boasting a wealth of maritime history. Explore the picturesque quayside, cobbled lanes, independent shops and galleries, before enjoying a drink or a meal in one of the local pubs or restaurants. Stunning coastal and rural walks, including along the ever-popular Tarka Trail and across Northam Burrows, can be accessed close by and showcase the spectacular coastline and rolling countryside the area is famed for. Beach lovers are also well-catered for with pretty Instow, Saunton and Woolacombe all nearby. Other attractions include RHS Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal, Tapeley Park, the Milky Way and The Big Sheep and shopping at Atlantic Village.

On entering this delightful cottage, you are greeted by the fabulous lounge area, boasting original beams and a beautiful fireplace. This is a great space to sit back, relax and watch a movie or two on the Smart TV after a day of exploring the local surroundings. The kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine, great for budding cooks should you choose to bring back local ingredients from the nearby shops, the local butcher or fresh fish from the coast. Heading up the steep staircase you will find two bedrooms, one double and one twin. You will also find the bathroom on this floor with shower over bath and WC.

Venture outside to the rear garden, which can be accessed via the kitchen area by steps, to a lawn area as well as a decked area with garden furniture. There is roadside parking available subject to availability alternatively, there is a long stay car park located less than 100 yards away.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Appledore

Appledore is a small fishing village in North Devon. The village celebrates its local artists. The village is full of narrow streets, many of them cobbled. Here you that will find a lot of arts and crafts shops showcasing their work. A variety of pubs and restaurants offer a large range of local seafood. The village is has a privately owned shipyard that employs a lot of the locals. The quay is often occupied by local shipping vessels and yachts. Cruises are available to go up and down the estuary. A ferry takes passengers to the pretty village of Instow which has a sheltered Sandy beach and pier. A short walk away, along the river is Bideford Bay and Westward Ho. The nearest town is Barnstaple 21 minutes away.
