Phoenix Cottage is a detached bungalow set in the coastal resort of Westward Ho! The cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms, consisting of one double and two twins, as well as a shower room. The cottage also has a kitchen, a sitting room with electric fire and a conservatory with dining area. Outside there’s off road parking for one car, a front terrace and an enclosed courtyard with furniture. Phoenix Cottage is a lovely base for families situated within walking distance of a sandy beach.

A detached bungalow with distant sea views, situated in a quiet position within a residential area, a quarter of a mile from the beach and golf course at Westward Ho!. Park the car at the front of the bungalow, climb several steps up to the gravelled front garden and step inside this warm and cosy cottage. The sitting room is the hub of the house and all rooms lead off it. This attractive room boasts oak floors, plush sofas, a wall-mounted TV and patio doors onto a sea-facing terrace, which is a tempting spot for refreshment. The kitchen is spacious and spotless and leads into a sunny conservatory used as the dining area, with its own TV and doors to an enclosed rear courtyard garden brimming with potted plants in the summer. Completing the accommodation are three bedrooms, which share a shower room and all have their own TV and DVD players. A ten-minute walk from the cottage takes you to either the golf course, or the huge sandy beach, which is popular with surfers, and the town itself has cafés and bars. Apart from Westward Ho! beach, this area of Devon is renowned for a number of spectacular beaches, including Saunton Sands and Woolacombe, all of which provide fabulous opportunities for surfing, swimming and kite surfing. For a more relaxed day, visit the historic fishing village of Clovelly, which is perched on the hill overlooking the working harbour, and where donkeys are used to carry loads up the narrow, steep streets. The South West coast path is dramatic in North Devon and offers walkers spectacular scenery and undulating paths. Hartland Point, with views of Lundy Island, is a notable landmark on the coast path and the island can be reached by boat from nearby Bideford. This bungalow will be loved by all and provides a relaxing stay, wonderful views and a taste of North Devon that you will want to return to.

Westward Ho! is a pretty coastal village. The seafront is a very popular spot for surfers and a variety of water sports. There are lifeguards on patrol on the beach in the summer making it feel very safe and secure for families. The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness. Dogs are welcomed on the beach all year. During the summer there are signs directing you to which area of the beach are dog friendly. The village is surrounded by cliffs and an estuary. There are lots of nature trails and paths leading to neighbouring towns such as Bideford. For the adventurers, The Ultimate Adventure Centre in Bideford, fun for all the family. The Pebble Ridge Adventure Golf and Go Karts are worth a visit. The village has a few gift shops, a local store and a pharmacy. The village is also home to a few surfing and water sports shops. There are 3 pubs in Westward Ho! The local town of Bideford is 10 minutes by car. Further on is Barnstaple which is 21 minutes away.
