This single-storey detached Devon cottage is situated in two acres of the owners' grounds, a mile from the edge-of-Dartmoor town of Okehampton. It is a wonderfully neat and smart base, full of light and just right for families or friends to enjoy the stunning surrounding scenery or travel around Devon from this central base. The sitting room is bright and welcoming with its wood-burning stove for cooler days and double glazed doors to throw open to the decking on sunny days. The kitchen with its dining area has fun, cheerful splashes of contemporary colour. Both the bedrooms come with an en suite and TVs and are just right for sleeping peacefully after walking Dartmoor's hills and valleys. Outside, your sunny decking with furniture sweeps around the cottage to a gate to a lawn with lots of space for playing games or simply enjoying the moorland views. For a choice of restaurants and shops, a cinema or the leisure centre, head into Okehampton. The town is full of interest, with a seasonal heritage railway and the start of the popular Granite Way cycle/walking track to Lydford, 11 miles away. For walkers, you also have The Two Castles Trail, the West Devon Way and of course the wide-open spaces of Dartmoor to explore. With easy access to the A30 heading to Cornwall and the M5, Lily's Pad is a hugely convenient base in a lovely location.

Okehampton is centrally located and lies on the northern border of Dartmoor National Park. This market town is perfect for those looking to escape to the outdoors and is known as the walking centre of Devon. Enjoy the area on foot, by horseback or on a bike and discover the beautiful countryside the area has to offer. The Granite Way is a walking and cycle route that is pretty level, can be travelled along in a day (18 miles in length) and you will be rewarded with the Lydford Gorge and its waterfall at the end of the trail. Okehampton Castle is the remains of the largest castle in Devon dating back to Norman times and has a rich history. There are over 40 places to eat out and there is a good selection of shops making this an excellent place to base yourself to explore the area.
