This pretty thatched cottage is situated on the edge of North Tawton town, down a quiet narrow country lane in a terrace of similar properties within walking distance of shops and pubs. An ideal base for exploring Dartmoor and its historic villages, this beautifully-presented cottage is perfect for couples and small families. The sitting room invites guests to get warm and cosy in front of the wood burner, which also heats the small dining room and kitchen beyond. The exposed beams and stone fireplace give a sense to the history of this lovely cottage. Nearby, Okehampton offers lots of history including a castle and a Victorian shopping arcade, whilst the north and south Devon coastlines are only a short drive. If your goal is to explore as much as Devon as possible, the small town of North Tawton is perfect as it is so centrally located within the county. Lying just north of Dartmoor National Park amid pretty countryside with the River Taw running through the town, it is remarkably well-provisioned with 4 pubs, an ice cream parlour, fish and chips as well as a pizza takeaway. Several shops and services are available as well as a recreation park. Pretty much all of Devon is accessible from here but close by is the Bow Garden and Aquatic Centre, Dartmoor is only 6 miles away and the Museum of Dartmoor Life at Okehampton is 7 miles away.
