Kings Corner is a pretty thatched Grade II listed end-of-terrace cottage in the picturesque South Devon village of Kingston. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms up steep stairs, a double and a twin, plus family bathroom. On the ground floor is a sitting room with open fire and a kitchen with dining area. Outside is a tiny garden at the front and an enclosed garden at the back with steps up to a lawn, table and chairs and a shed for storing bikes and beach gear. Just 300 yards from the excellent village inn, Kings Corner is a charming cottage for a brilliant Devon holiday.

This pretty thatched cottage is situated at the end of a terrace of five in the centre of Kingston. Grade II listed, it is charming and traditional Devon accommodation for a comfortable break. The sitting room is cosy and warm with a wood-burning stove as the feature and beams and stone walls to add to the history. The kitchen has been well fitted with a dining area and useful stable doors opening to a room where you can leave your walking boots and coats. Head up the steep stairs at the end of a busy day to find the two comfortable bedrooms sharing a bathroom for hot baths and showers after a lovely time on the beach. A tiny front garden with old fashioned cobbled path sets the cottage back from the little road at the front and at the back, you have a little garden with steps up to a lawn and outdoor furniture. You can store your bikes and boards for the beach in the garden shed. Wander out to the excellent village inn 300 yards away where you can enjoy delicious suppers with local seafood featuring on the menu. The lovely coast all around is a delight, with bodyboarding, paddleboarding and kayaking at Wonwell beach and brilliant surfing at Challaborough and Bigbury-on-Sea where you can sign up at the popular surf school. Walking is a pleasure here, either along the River Erme estuary or along the stunning South West Coast Path, or maybe to Burgh Island of Agatha Christie fame. Based in a friendly village, Kings Corner is a smashing cottage at any time of year.

Kingston
Kingston is a pretty village surrounded by working farms and an abundance of country walks and conservation areas. Kingston lies between the town of Modbury and Bigbury-On Sea, both 20-minutes in the car. The village is 1 mile from the mouth of the River Erme. The village also lies between the Dartmoor National Park and the South Devon Coastline and is a great escape if you are looking for a more rural escape. There is a very strong sense of community here and you can often find eggs for sale on the roadside, the village offers a pub, the Dolphin Inn, which has a back garden and traditional home-cooked food. The village also boasts a village hall and a recently refurbished adventure playground. Choose from a variety of coastal walks taking in the dramatic cliffs and stunning scenery, spot the local wildlife as you pass the conservation areas. Visit the weekly market in the village hall or if you fancy exploring the nearest beach then Wonwell Beach can be accessed by car or on foot. At low tide the beach has a large expanse of sand and is great for sunbathing, swimming and building sandcastles, the beach is dog friendly all year round. Water sports can often be picked up from the River and surfing is available at Bigbury beach.
