Heron Cottage is a charming cottage set in a pretty street in the picturesque village of Colyton.  An attractive and welcoming holiday home sleeping up to 4 guests and featuring a wood burning stove, ideal to cosy up to in the spring and Autumn. This is perfect walking country, so bring the dog and enjoy the numerous attractive walks close by. Recently modernised and well equipped, this inviting cottage is quietly tucked away within an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty but benefits from having local shops and village pubs on the doorstep.  The cottage is conveniently located to enjoy this fascinating Medieval town, with its maze of narrow Saxon streets, the magnificent fifteenth-century church and listed buildings and if you want to venture further afield it's only a few minutes drive from the stunning East Devon and West Dorset coastlines.  The seaside towns of Seaton, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are all within easy reach by car.

A tram service runs between Seaton and Colyton stopping at Colyford and passing alongside the Axe Estuary which is a nature reserve.  There are numerous walks in every direction including some riverside trails and the River Coly flows from its origins further up the valley joining the River Axe just below Colyford. The mile-long shingle and sandy beach at Seaton is only 3 miles away and is rarely crowded.

Please note: Due to the character of the property, its internal staircases and different levels on the ground floor we do not advise this property for children under 5 years of age and anyone with mobility issues. 
One small well behaved dog is welcome.

Entrance hallway to Lounge/dining room with two sofas and an armchair, Woodburner, flatscreen TV and dining table seating four guests. Sunroom with Rattan style furniture and access to patio garden. Separate fitted kitchen with ceramic hob & electric oven, fridge with ice box, microwave and washing machine. Stairs to first floor Bedroom 1 with twin 3ft beds. Family bathroom with corner shower, heated towel rail and W.C. Stairs to second floor Bedroom 2 with 4ft 6inch double bed.

Outside:

Private patio garden with outdoor table, chairs, parasol and BBQ.

Parking:

High street parking opposite the property and a public car park within 200m of the cottage.

Colyton

Colyton is a historic town 3 miles from Seaton and 6 miles from Axminster. The town has a convenience store and 3 pubs, The Gerard Pub dates back to 1506 and was rumoured to have been visited by Laurence of Arabia! The pub has a rear garden is dog friendly and serves traditional home-cooked food. Visit Axe Valley Wildlife Park in Axminister. Visit the Meerkats, Zebras, Chipmunks and much more and then unwind with a coffee while the kids play.
