Nestled on the hillside within the peaceful South Hams countryside, Greenwinds Cottage is ideal for those seeking a slice of laid-back Devon at its best.  Alongside the owner’s home, it is one half of a 220-year-old stone cottage which has been sympathetically renovated to offer modern comforts whilst retaining plenty of character and charm.  Its elevated position allows for beautiful views of the surrounding countryside to be enjoyed from most rooms.  The spacious open plan living area provides the perfect space to spend quality time together complete with a wood burner to snuggle up in front of after a long day out exploring. The cottage also welcomes a dog (second dog considered on enquiry) and has the added benefit of a ground floor doggy wet room, perfect for washing off after a rambling walk!

Ground Floor: Side door to covered utility/boot room with bench and coat rack. Door to wet room with WC, basin, heated towel rail and shower with handheld attachment. Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer (shared with owner).

Open plan living space. Kitchen area with fridge freezer, induction hob with extractor hood over, microwave, built-in eye-level oven and integrated full-size dishwasher. Dining area with sash window enjoying countryside views, table to seat up to 10 and door to front terrace. Lounge area with sash window enjoying views of the valley, wood-burner with optional fireguard, ‘L’ shape sofa and tub chair, TV with Amazon Firestick and DVD player. Door to office area with sofa-bed and desk with stool and stairs leading to first floor.

First Floor: Landing. Master bedroom with sash window enjoying elevated country views and 4ft 6 double bed. Door to ensuite shower room with WC, basin, heated towel rail and walk-in shower. Bedroom two with sash window enjoying views of the valley and 5ft king-size bed. Bedroom three with 5ft king-size bed. Family bathroom with WC, basin, heated towel rail and bath with electric shower over (and with hand-held shower attachment on taps).


From the parking area, a five-bar gate opens into the bottom terrace of the garden with a small lawn area. 20 steps (with handrail to one side) lead up the side of the house and to the front door. There is a level terrace (chippings) with a wooden bench, bistro table and 2 chairs to the front of the cottage, accessed from the dining/lounge area (please note this area is unfenced, with a very low wall and a large drop to the front down to the bottom terrace and therefore not suitable for small or unsupervised children). From the steps at the side of the house, a further 20 steps curve up and around to the rear of the cottage to a top mainly grassed area of garden which slopes up (again, this area is not suitable for small or unsupervised children due to the unfenced drop).

Parking: Parking for 2 small-medium cars or one large car/van in the designated parking area adjacent to the country lane. Further off lane parking also available within a few metres.


  • Included: Bed linen and towels (guests are required to provide their own beach/dog towels). Water, Electricity, underfloor heating in all bath/shower rooms with oil central heating everywhere else. One travel cot, two high chairs, one pressure fit stair gate. Firelighters and one complimentary basket of logs provided on arrival. Charcoal barbeque.
  • Internet and Telephone: Wi-Fi available free of charge. Regret, No landline telephone available. Mobile reception generally poor but please check with your provider prior to booking. Wi-Fi calling is available.
  • Pets: One well behaved dog welcome, A second dog may be accepted with the enquiry. Dog charge £30.00 per dog per week.
