Whilst here, you can pay a visit to the Royal Avenue Gardens or brush up on the local history at Tudor-style Dartmouth Museum and the 15th-century fortress of Bayard's Cove Fort.
Keen walkers can take the coastal path to Dartmouth Castle to soak up the views of the estuary, before lazing on the shoreline of the Sugary Cove Beach; alternatively, walk along the famous South West Coast Path, where you can pay a visit to the likes of Brownstone Battery and Berry Head National Nature Reserve.

Take a trip on one of the many ferries and head out for a day to explore nearby Salcombe, Torquay or Totnes or stay on land and explore the English Riviera on the Dartmouth Steam Railway.
