Description

Garden Cottage is a real treat. The cottage has been totally and lovingly refurbished, is exceptionally comfortable, beautifully furnished, and is tucked away in a quiet residential road in the centre of Loddiswell. This small hillside village, named after a well in the village belonging centuries ago to someone with the name of Lod, is set above the beautiful River Avon valley, with plenty of doorstep walks from the cottage and wonderful walking along the old Primrose railway line, a great walk for animal owners, families and ramblers. Just three miles from Kingsbridge at the head of the Kingsbridge/Salcombe estuary and five miles from the beaches and sea at Thurlestone, Bantham or Bigbury on Sea, this is a really central spot from which to explore this beautiful area of the South Hams.

Accommodation:

The front stable door opens directly into the kitchen, beautifully equipped with soft cream units, a fine Heritage cooker (electric Aga style) with twin hobs and double ovens. The kitchen has a twin ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and microwave (a fridge freezer is located in the garage).
A circular dining table seats 4 with pew bench and 2 chairs.
Glazed door into the sitting room with fine feature fireplace inset with a wood burner, two sofas, 32” TV with DVD and window seats that peep out to the lower garden.

Stairs to the landing and access to the terrace and garden.
Attractive double bedroom with feature stone wall, 4ft 6in double bed, wardrobe, hand basin and tiny en-suite with shower cubicle and WC.
Second double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed. Bathroom with bath, hand shower basin and WC.

Outside:

A path leads down to a wide terrace with table, chairs and barbecue. There is a sloping area of lawn and a path down to a paved area outside the sitting room and the garden is enclosed.
Steps lead down to the front door and on further down to a walkway through another garden gate to access Town’s Lane.

For 2/3 cars in driveway and garage.

• Pets: One small sized dog allowed. Two small dogs by negotiation. No medium/large dogs. Not to go on furniture or in bedrooms please. Pet charge £30 per dog per week.

Loddiswell

Loddiswell is a pretty village on the edge of the River Avon. The village has a friendly atmosphere and has a shop, a post office and a pub. The village is near the towns of South Milton and Kingsbridge and has the attraction of peace and tranquillity and is a great base to discover all South Devon has to offer. There are lots of riverside walks to explore in Loddiswell, try the old Great Western Railway’s Primrose line following the River Avon or take the Dart Valley Trail and discover Agatha Christies former holiday home. Try the South Devon Chilli Farm, Andrews Wood which is a nature reserve managed by the Devon Wildlife Trust and Bigbury Beach.
