Crooked Oak Cottage is a delightful detached cottage in Alswear, near the charming market town of South Molton. Set over two floors and sleeping up to four guests, Crooked Oak Cottage is a perfect base whilst you explore this gorgeous part of Devon with family or friends.

You are greeted to the property with ample off-road parking spots, and a surrounding garden with a lawn for the children to play, as well as a patio area with furniture so guests can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining. You enter the property into a living/dining area so pick your spot on the sofa and grab some popcorn as you settle down; with the handy DVD player, you can watch your favourite films, or gather your loved ones around the dining table for a competitive game of cards as you toast to a wonderful holiday. To finish the ground floor there is a kitchen with everything necessary to make self-catering simple, yet still getting to cook up a storm.

Climbing upstairs there is a tastefully decorated king-size bedroom with a traditional dressing table so you can get ready for those evenings out, and a twin with bunk beds, which is in calming neutral shades and offers plenty of storage, so you can unpack and feel at home.

Mole Cottage and Crooked Oak Cottage are two beautifully presented properties, ideal for couples or small families, a great base in South Molton for exploring coastal Devon. Mole Cottage comprises a lovely, spacious double bedroom with stunning views of the vivacious woodland of Mole Valley and an en-suite shower room, flooded with light via the Velux window. It also occupies an open-plan living area with delightful dining and sitting area featuring a wood burner to keep you extra cosy in winter. Crooked Oak Cottage also has an open-plan sitting and dining area, however, the kitchen is separate. For your convenience, there is an adjoining carport with a washing machine and tumble dryer available with Mole Cottage. Outside there is bike storage and off-road parking, as well as space to sit and enjoy the lovely rural views in the warmer months with outdoor furniture and a BBQ for alfresco dining. Garramarsh Farm also has 800m of private fishing rights on the River Mole, ideal for those fishing enthusiasts. Set on five peaceful acres on Garramarsh Farm, Mole Cottage and Crooked Oak Cottage are located on the fringes of Alswear, a small but friendly hamlet with fantastic countryside views. South Molton is a charming market town with a good variety of amenities including Quince Honey Farm where you can buy locally produced honey from the largest exhibition of honey bees in the world, a twice-weekly market held every Thursday and Saturday morning and if you want a break from cooking, then you’ll find some excellent friendly pubs such as The Castle Inn and the Poltimore Arms. The larger town of Barnstaple, which offers more shops, pubs and restaurants, is 20 minutes from Garramarsh Farm, so you have everything you need within easy reach. Jump in the car and head for Exmoor's stunning National Park with miles of amazing walking, or head to the coast with fabulous beaches like Saunton Sands Woolacombe and Westward Ho! within a 45 drive. If you fancy a more secluded option, Mortehoe Beach near Woolacombe, accessible by foot from the coastal footpath has excellent rock pools that are a favourite with children, so remember to take nets and buckets. Whether you are looking to simply relax and unwind or get out and about exploring Devon's many attractions, these two beautifully presented cottages are perfect for families and friends to appreciate together in the English Riviera.

South Molton

South Molton is a market town known as the Gateway to Exmoor and is perfectly located for not only exploring the National Park but the North Devon coastline as well with Combe Martin, Ilfracombe and Woolacombe all under 25 miles away. Every Thursday and Sunday the Country Market hosts 70 local businesses selling locally produced foods, plants and flowers, antiques as well as goods by local talented artists all under one roof. The town has a good choice of where to eat out and a free museum detailing the local history. The newly opened Quince Honey Farm is already a must-visit with a typical comment being I never knew bees could be so interesting! The nearby Castle Hill Estate has stunning views with an equally stunning 50 acres of garden, a great cafe and is also dog-friendly so everyone can enjoy the walks.
