Description

Court Barton No.1 is a light and bright cottage all on one level which is both comfortable and spacious. The lounge has high ceilings with exposed beams and access through patio doors to a private patio which enjoys stunning countryside views.

Peacefully situated in a tiny hamlet in one of the loveliest corners of Devon between Salcombe and Thurlestone are the attractive group of converted Georgian barns that comprise Court Barton. All cottages enjoy the use of outdoor (May to mid/end Sept (depending on weather) and indoor (April until the end of October, Christmas and New year and February half term) heated swimming pools, games room with table tennis and table football, an all-weather tennis court, and the extensive grounds which includes two attractive courtyards, an orchard and croquet lawn. Should you wish to leave the comfort of this delightful place, less than a mile away is the beach at Thurlestone Sands, wonderful for sunbathing, swimming and watersports, with the village of Thurlestone itself a little further on with its famous links golf course. The beautiful sailing mecca of the Salcombe estuary with its golden beaches is only 3 miles.

Kitchen with ceramic hob, eye level oven, fridge with ice box, dishwasher, washer dryer and microwave.
Bedroom with twin 3ft zip-linked beds and orchard views.
Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC.

Outside:

Patio furnished with garden table and chairs and reclining chairs.

Parking:

Car parking is available. Guests are asked to park one car in the lower or upper car parks. Additional cars, once unloaded, should be moved to the overflow car park.

Galmpton

Galmpton is a pretty village by the River Dart with the towns of Brixham and Paignton a short drive away. It has a convenience store, a post office and a pub offering traditional home-cooked food and local ales. This peaceful and scenic village is an ideal base for exploring the local area. There are a variety of bridleways to explore on foot or by bike. A popular route is the walk to Greenway House, Agatha Christie's former holiday home, now owned by the National Trust. Explore this very grand-looking house and vast gardens and then relax in the cafe.

The sandy beaches of Broadsands Beach and Goodrington Sands Beach are not far from here. The beach at Goodrington Sands has a cafe and a section for dogs. Visit Berry Head Nature Reserve in Brixham. This area is a Special Area of Conservation and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Enjoy coastal walks around the stunning headland, spot a wide range of wildlife and relax in the cafe. For a family day out, visit Paignton Zoo. The zoo is set in 80 acres and has playgrounds for the children to run excess energy off in and a cafe.
