Close to the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this vast area of heathland and wooded combes is the perfect place to enjoy nature, with either a gentle or strenuous walk and take in the stunning views of Devon, England’s first World Heritage Site. It’s rich in history and wonder as well as offering a variety of activities to get involved in such as kayaking, fishing or explore the area for a true countryside feel.

The town has a convenience store and 3 pubs, The Gerard Pub dates back to 1506 and was rumoured to have been visited by Laurence of Arabia! The pub has a rear garden is dog friendly and serves traditional home-cooked food. Visit Axe Valley Wildlife Park in Axminister. Visit the Meerkats, Zebras, Chipmunks and much more and then unwind with a coffee while the kids play.
