Bere Ferrers is a mile away (closer than Bere Alston); it’s where the Tamar and Tavy rivers join. The Olde Plough is a lovely mixture of old and new; with locally sourced produce and a rear courtyard garden to catch the west-facing sun with views across the river, this pub makes a lovely evening out, a lunch spot after a game of tennis or indeed a well earned drink after a Devon cycle ride.

For the more adventurous guests, why not jump on your bike to the Tamar trails or the immediate locality, or for a more relaxed day trip, jump on the Heritage Valley Train line to wonderful Calstock and walk on to Cothele and its boatquay tea room.
