Woolsery

Woolsery, or Woolfardisworthy as it is also known, is a small but pretty village with characterful thatched cottages. In 2012, a tech millionaire, who had family ties to the village, bought the only pub and restored it to its former glory. Now, The Farmers Arms serves wonderful food, with much of the vegetables grown with Woolsery and local ales. This then extended to the fish and chip shop, the village store, 90 acres of farmland to eventually supply all the businesses he had restored. The large manor house is currently being renovated into a luxury hotel and spa. There is a Woolsery weekend every June where gardens are open to the public and the village offers locally produced cream, butter, cheese and ice cream. The Street Fayre happens here every July and includes music, food and lots of activities for children. The village is sandwiched between Clovelly and Horns Cross which has the Milky Way Adventure Park, North Devon Wake Park (Adventure Water Park). Peppercombe Beach at Horns Cross is very picturesque and is just a 12 minute drive away.
