The apartment sleeps four people in two bedrooms, a double with en suite bathroom with over head shower and a twin, plus a shower room. On the same level is a sitting room with a dining area and a balcony and a kitchen. Outside, as well as the balcony is a shared lawn garden. This newly refurbished apartment is one of seven situated 350 yards from the splendid beach in Bigbury-on-Sea. Smart, light and comfy with a modern feel, this is brilliant accommodation for enjoying a holiday right on the coast. Step up to the entrance and into your sitting room, all comfy and bright with a handy dining area and smart new kitchen, ceiling-high glass doors you can slide open to a balcony, bringing the outside in and providing a lovely spot for evening drinks. At the end of a day enjoying the gorgeous coastline, you will sleep well in the two bedrooms, with sea views from the twin room. Outside, as well as your excellent balcony, you have use of a shared lawn, all neat and well-manicured. Wander down to the beach to walk on the sand and across to Burgh Island or perhaps a dip in the waves, maybe with a bodyboard or a surfboard which can be hired from the surf school. There is a simple little pub on the island, The Pilchard, where you can enjoy a quiet drink and contemplate the scenery which inspired Agatha Christie in some of her mysteries. For walkers, the South West Coast Path is beyond compare with amazing scenery and little coves en route. Kingsbridge and Salcombe will provide plenty of opportunities for retail therapy, as well as excellent eateries. 3 Tarifa is a peaceful and civilised place to enjoy the sea and countryside on the doorstep.
The small hamlet of Bigbury-on-Sea is another perfect location for seaside holidays located in the South Hams area in South Devon. The beach offers everything you could ever desire for the perfect day by the sea including safe swimming with seasonal lifeguards (May to September) and shallow waters. The beach is very spacious and has disabled access. At low tide, you can take a walk over to Burgh Island or if you can't wait take a trip over on the famous sea tractor and discover the Art Deco Burgh Island Hotel, the links with Agatha Christie and its history of pirates and smugglers. A great area for rockpooling this area is a big hit for kids of all ages.
The facilities are equally good with two car parks, clean toilets and even showers for the surfers and bathers. The Discover Surf School offers surf lessons for beginners and intermediates and they also offer windsurfing and kitesurfing. The Venus Café has a variety of food and drinks options including the all-important ice cream and there is even a beach barista. A pub is also available on Burgh Island. Dogs are allowed on one side of the beach and there are dog bowls and water available for them as well.
