Description

Tucked away in a small cul-de-sac in the heart of the village a short walk from 2 dog-friendly pubs and the village shop, is this welcoming period cottage which has been comfortably furnished throughout. With a lounge, dining room, kitchen, utility and cloakroom on the ground floor, 3 bedrooms, a family bathroom, snug and shower room on the first floor, and a further bedroom on the second floor, there is plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy, including the dogs (two welcome)! A decked sun terrace with glass balustrading overlooking the Mill Pool and River Dart is the pièce de resistance!

Please note: This property is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties. In typical cottage style, there are low ceilings in some places so may not be suitable for extremely tall people and care should be taken.

Ground floor:
Entrance hall.
Lounge with 2 sofas and 2 armchairs, Smart TV with Freeview and modern living flame gas fire.
Dining room with dining table to seat up to 8 (+2).
Kitchen with eye-level built-in double oven, electric induction hob with extractor fan over, full-size dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, Bluetooth speaker with FM radio and CD player and patio doors to the inner courtyard.
Utility room with washing machine and sink. A large dog crate (2ftx3ftx2ft3) and dog beds are available for your use during your stay.
Cloakroom with WC and basin.
Inner hall (located between the kitchen, dining room and lounge) with steep stairs (slightly uneven in places) leading to:

First floor:
Landing.
Master bedroom with 5ft king size bed, small sink with shaver point and Smart TV with Freeview
Bedroom two with two 3ft single beds (can be made up as a 6ft super king bed if requested at the time of booking)
Bedroom three with 4ft 6 double bed.
Family bathroom with jacuzzi bath, walk-in shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail.
Snug with Smart TV with Freeview and DVD player and steps up to a ¾ door which is an alternative access route to the terrace - (extra 3ft single bed with 3ft single pull out trundle can be provided on request to enable 10 guests, but please note that the lounge only has seating for 8.) Ensuite shower room with WC, basin and walk-in shower.

Steep stairs lead from the first floor landing up to the:
Second floor.
Bedroom four with 4ft 6 double bed and beautiful views of the Mill Pool from the dormer window.

Outside:

Accessed from the kitchen, the inner courtyard has a washing line for drying clothes, a bistro table with 2 chairs and a path around to the front of the cottage. Wooden steps lead up to the decked sun terrace furnished with garden table and chairs to seat up to 8, which enjoys superb views over the church and graveyard to the Mill Pool and River Dart beyond. The 3.5ft tall glass balustrading (and glass gate to the wooden steps) surround the deck and allow for the views to be truly appreciated.

Parking:

There is on-road parking available at the front of the cottage (available on a first-come, first-served basis, loading and unloading almost always possible as a quiet cul-de-sac). A parking permit is also provided for the Mill Pool Car Park (located approx. 280 metres from the cottage.

  • Internet and Telephone: Wi-Fi available free of charge. Regret, No landline telephone available. Mobile reception is generally good but please check with your provider prior to booking.
  • Pets: Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome (medium-sized dog crate available in utility room should you wish to use one). Dog charge £30.00 per dog per week. Sorry, no cats.

Stoke Gabriel

Stoke Gabriel is a pretty village by the River Dart. The village has a shop, a post office, a cafe and the choice of two pubs. The towns of Brixham and Paignton are near and the village is set in the rolling hills of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are a range of walks to explore along the river, on a low tide, walk along the shoreline to Duncannon Beach, or venture into the woods and explore. Have lunch at the waterside cafe and then try a spot of crabbing. Let the children enjoy the community orchard and playpark. Further afield, enjoy a great day out at Paignton Zoo or Splashdown Quaywest.
