1 Church Cottages is a lavish, stone-built cottage in the stunning Dartmoor National Park, near the market town of Okehampton in Devon.
The property comes in the wonderful moorland village of Belstone, with the wandering ponies and the moors just outside your front door, and is the perfect base for a holiday of walking, hiking, running and exploring Dartmoor, Belstone Tor, Yes Tor, High Wilhays, Nine Stone Circle and Cullever Steps are all within walking access from the cottage, in addition, there is a superb pub just a short distance from the cottage offering a warm welcome, good food and an excellent range of ales.
The sitting room is tastefully decorated with oak flooring, sophisticated seating and a fabulous woodburning stove making it a great spot to put your feet up after a long day of walking. Just off of the living room is the exquisite, amply equipped kitchen with stylish fixtures and fittings. A contemporary wooden staircase with glass panelling takes you up to the immaculately decorated first floor. Here you will find the luxurious, spacious wet room and the pristine king-size bedroom, completing the interior of this superb countryside cottage.
Outside is a little seating area that acts as an excellent spot to enjoy a glass of bubbly or even some al fresco dining in the sun.
1 Church Cottages is close to Okehampton, this is a wonderful town from which to base your holiday, with its fine selection of places to shop, eat and drink as well as much to see including a fascinating museum and majestic castle. The magnificent city of Exeter is easily accessible by car and is certainly worth a day trip with its superlative architecture and elite shopping facilities.
For a leisurely day out, head to the award-winning market town of Tavistock on the western edge of the National Park, which has a wide range of shops, a pannier market, restaurants and traditional pubs including the award-winning gastro pub The Cornish Arms, as well as an indoor swimming pool, cinema and a theatre. If you do not want to venture too far, Belstone is a fantastic area and perfect for walking on the moors.

Okehampton is centrally located and lies on the northern border of Dartmoor National Park. This market town is perfect for those looking to escape to the outdoors and is known as the walking centre of Devon. Enjoy the area on foot, by horseback or on a bike and discover the beautiful countryside the area has to offer. The Granite Way is a walking and cycle route that is pretty level, can be travelled along in a day (18 miles in length) and you will be rewarded with the Lydford Gorge and its waterfall at the end of the trail. Okehampton Castle is the remains of the largest castle in Devon dating back to Norman times and has a rich history. There are over 40 places to eat out and there is a good selection of shops making this an excellent place to base yourself to explore the area.
