East Portlemouth Holiday Cottages

East Portlemouth is a small pretty village set on a hill giving outstanding views to Kingsbridge and Dartmoor. Set in an area of outstanding beauty, it has one of the quieter sandy beaches of the area and is fantastic for families..even dogs are welcome all year round here. East Portlemouth has a number of small beaches. Fishermans Cove, Small Cove and Mill Bay. All have won Safe Bathing status and this is great for families of young children as you know the water is clean, shallow and safe for paddling. At low tide, you will find lots of shallow rock pools and you can pick up the Ferry to Salcombe from Fishermans beach. Well worth exploring is the trail form Ease Portlemouth to Prawle Point. Here you find a watch station, manned by volunteers and you can take in the magnificent views out to sea. This area is very popular with birdwatchers as many migratory species gather here. If you walk on to East Prawle then you can pick up refreshments at the village cafe or at the Pigs nose.
