Buckfastleigh Holiday Cottages
Buckfastleigh is a small, lively market town situated on the edge of Dartmoor. It hosts a Farmer’s market every Thursday and is ideal for walking and cycling enthusiasts with the famous Abbotts Way trail beginning here. Buckfastleigh offers 3 pubs, The Kings Arms, White Hart and Dartbridge Inn. Lots to do to suit all ages, The Butterfly and Dartmoor Otter Farm, Open Air Pool, Bowles and a Skate Park for the more daring. And, of course, no visit is complete without visiting Buckfast Abbey, steeped in history, now famous for its tonic wine, produced by the monks where they run a farm and keep bees. Within a few miles, you can access the steam trains of the South Devon Railway which run to Totnes along seven miles of the bank of the River Dart. Herons, swans, badgers, foxes and wild otters are frequently seen around the river and the railway route. River Dart Country Park, Pennywell Farm and a Gin school at Darlington are also popular local attractions.
